About Mr. Saechao
I was born in Laos in 1979 and spent a few years in the Thailand refugee camps before coming to the United States. I grew up in Portland. After graduating from Madison High School, I taught tennis for a few years before going back to school to become an educator. I spent two years at Mt. Hood Community College and then transfered to the University of Oregon to get my bachelor's degree. After my bachelor's degree, I took a year and taught at a pre-school in Eugene. After a year of pre-school, I went to the University of Oregon and got my Master's in Education.
My real teaching career started ten years ago. I spent 7 years at Maple Elementary School and then the last two years here at Walterville. This is my third year at Walterville and I am very excited to start the new year.
Currently I am living in Springfield by Willamalane Center. I have three kids and a wonderful wife. My eldest is a first grader here at Walterville and her name is Madelyn. My son Kai is a preschooler at Foundations Montisorri in Eugene with Koa my youngest. Kai is four years old and Koa is 2 years old. They will also be future Wildcats.
I try my hardest to spend as much time with my family as possible. Some of my hobbies are volleyball, tennis, golf, and trying to be a self taught mechanic. The other thing I love to do is host dinners at our house. I love trying to come up with new recipes and hope that it taste good.
There is a book that was written about my family when I was 17. It is called, "A Mien Family." It is a great book to get information about my family.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
