Mr. Saechao:
I was born in Laos and moved to Thailand when I was about three years old. As a three year old, I lived in the refugee camps of Thailand for about four years before moving to Portland Oregon. I grew up in Northeast Portland area and then attended Mt. Hood Community College after graduating from high school. After Mt. Hood I transfered to Western Oregon University. Within a few terms, I figured out it wasn't a good fit for me to get an education degree, so I transfered to the U of O. At the U of O is where I got my bachelor's degree and master's degree. I was fortunate enough to get a job as a teacher in Springfield after graduating from the U of O. I taught at Maple Elementary for seven years and then transfered to Walterville. This is my third year here at Walterville. I absolutely love teaching here. I taught fifth grade the first year here, and then I taught second grade last year. And this year I have third and fourth grade and even some fifth graders in Math.
Family:
I was raised in a family of eight kids. There are five boys and two girls plus my parents. I am the second oldest in the group of kids. Now, I have a family of my own. My wife Mona is a nurse at Riverbend Hospital. I also have three kids of my own. Madelyn is seven years old and is a second grade in Ms. Patterson's room. She loves to play with friends and Math is her favorite subject. Kai is five years old and he is a kindergartener this year. He loves Taekwondo. Koa is three years old and he attends McKenzie Montissori in Springfield. His favorite thing to do is play fight with Ninja Turtle weapons. His favorite has got to be the nunchucks.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for ten years. This will be my 11th year of teaching. I've taught at Maple Elementary for seven years, and three here at Walterville. Teaching is so enjoyable to me and I love what I do. My whole reason of becoming a teacher is to make a difference in children's lives positively.
